Just saw this last night. Mark Wahlberg deserves an Oscar for this performance. Really enjoyed this movie, I realize it probably doesn't fit narrative Hollywood is looking for. I see the critics ratings at RT have it at 43% but audience scores at 95%. Says all I need to know.

Of course the critics hated it, it was about a Catholic priest. It also had Mel Gibson in it for all the Catholic haters as well.

It was a well done movie.

Some of the lines in that movie are the funniest I have heard in a long time. I watched it on a plane and it made me actually laugh out loud several times. Lady in the seat next to me thought I was a crazy person.

just be aware its slow paced and little to no anything but family drama based on a true life story so they really couldnt do much to add to the story but i could have been better with a little more creative fiction.

its good but when you watch it you will see what i mean

i cant recall ever watching a mark walburg movie i didnt enjoy

I could see how someone might say it's slow. But I was honestly gripped to my seat the entire movie, and I will usually always drift off in movies that drag on. I'm just not used to seeing movies with this kind of message out there, featuring stars like Wahlberg and Gibson. But also Malcolm McDowell and Jacki Weaver in supporting roles. It wasn't some small time made for video cheesy Christian deal.

No one does “Get off my lawn” character better than Mel Gibson.
