Here's a finale question: When Malvo tapes the car salesman to the steering wheel and heads off into the woods, why doesn't the guy just race back to town?

No shite I was thinking that too when it happened.

Bc I'm sure Malvo, in his Malvo way, made it clear what the guy was to do and what would happen if he didn't. Plus, if he tried to take off driving, Malvo could have just shot him through the window

Malvo was off walking through the woods away from the road he could have kept driving right on past that house and back into town.

I'm looking for a screen shot, but I am almost positive, the direction Malvo was coming from is the same way that the road was

Bc when the car pulled in face to face with the agents car, it came in from the right and that is the direction Malvo walked out of...

ETA: Still looking, but I think it was a long drive and not a road...

In this shot, the road/drive/whatever it is, is to the left of Malvo. If it was a long drive, he could have put the guy in the car and had him drive in while he walked alongside through the woods.

Duck your head below window level, floor it in reverse, and take your chances. Or if you can't reach the shift lever, floor it in forward. Do something outside the box. If a guy tapes you to the steering wheel at gunpoint, it's not ending well regardless.

I know it's fiction and it had to be that way to advance the story

Not searching to find out if it has been discussed, but even after I replayed the ice scene at the end, I couldn't tell what I was looking at when they focused in on the hole. It looked like something was sticking out. Looked like a 20 lb. beef tube you buy at Sams.

Or fish falling from the sky at the perfect time?

Theres a shite ton in the show that didn't make sense, but it was an enjoyable ride.

ETA: My reason for debating the scene with him walking up and shooting the FBI agents is one of the most explainable in the scheme of things

The top of Lester's hat. It's in the final scene, it's not in the opening. I checked. I guess that would have given it away.

ETA: beat me to it.

Another thing, they walk around out in the cold pretty lightly dressed, sometimes just a shirt in what must be near zero conditions. I guess living in MN, you get used to it.

Guess that settles it. Thanks.

But, what a great season. Look forward to the next living up.

if i were to overanalyze things, i'd wonder what the odds were that lester & malvo would not only be in vegas the same weekend, but actually cross paths with one another....but since i enjoyed the ride so much, i won't

The story could focus on the massacre that happened years prior (was it Sioux Falls?). They continually made reference to it as being as nasty and criminal as they come.

I kinda like that idea. Another thing though why is the show set in 2006? Must be some meaning to that.

It's probably because the show is sort of a love letter to the Cohen brothers, who always set their movies in the past, even if it's the very near past.

Also, it had to be a few years ago since the show maintained that this was a true story.

If he taped him up with the car already in the driveway the only place for him to go would be straight (towards the house)
