They're pretty similar in that they're truly comic book movies. Superman focuses on Supes being the boy scout hero he was from the comics with a light hearted style and Krypto.

Fantastic Four is pretty similar with a heavy focus on family dynamics and the entire world seems pretty easy going. I'd say what put F4 over Supes for me is the fact that I liked more of the characters in F4 over Superman as well as Surfer and Galactus being better villains. Also as much as I did like the fight scenes when Superman just starts kicking arse, it can hardly hold a candle to the space scenes in Fantastic Four

Just got out. I think this thing will have legs and get to a billion.

Genuinely loved it. They finally got the family dynamic and galactus and damn near everything right.

I love Ben, Johnny. shite Pascal was a near comic accurate detached and stressed Reed. Johnny was great and I wish Joseph Quinn hadn't had that interview saying Johnny wasn't a womanizer and this was a modern take blah blah and I wish that they didn't imply Susan was the leader if the group. It wasn't woke, Reed was the leader, Ben and Johnny were comic accurate and I loved both of them.

Solid 9 out of 10 I think. It may actually hop into my top 5. No order:

Infinity War
End Game
No Way Home
Civil War
Fantastic 4

This is biased because Spider-Man and the Fantastic 4 are easily my favorite characters Marvel has ever made.

I think the modern take had more to do with him actually being pretty smart considering his role in the movie. He's still a lady's man give how those women reacted to him and his over interactions with the Surfer

No doubt I am wish casting but I think alot of the audience Marvel Studios lost due to their own retardeness would really love this move.

Probably one of the best 60s takes I've seen. The aesthetic looked pun pun pun Fantastic

Marvel is going to have to repair their brand a bit but also the Asian markets have completely wrote off comic book movies without that market it'll be hard to reach one billion anytime soon. That being said I could see this hitting 700-800 million

When can we slap a spoiler on this bitch and turn it into the discussion thread??

I just got out

I haven’t gone to an opening night movie in who knows how long.

Marvel is back boys

That was a damn good flick.

A couple of thoughts until I post a spoiler way down below

I’m not a comic guy, but it was so good to see the whole team having a purpose. I grew up on Chris Evan’s Johnny, he was a dumbass. This Johnny was smart and contributed. Same for Grimm, Chiklis was great but he was a dumbass too, this Grimm was great, smart, he was the pilot, he had a purpose.

The whole leak was that Sue was the head of the family and girl power took over. I didn’t get that sense at all. Sure she had a few moments with the press but I always felt Reed was front and center making decisions.

Spoilers

My only question was how was Galactus suppose to consume the planet at that size? Stick his mouth on an oil well and just suck it up? It seemed he was powered down. But in IMax I did love his scale, I was just left a little befuddled once he landed in New York how he was going to consume the planet. Or at that point was he just going after Franklin?

Not since Ragnorak have I felt such a wonderful tease of the power they’re going to face ahead. When Sue walked in on Doom looking at Franklin it felt like when Thanos’ ship showed up at the end of Ragnorak.

I think it’s a given Doomsday will start off with Doom kicking their asses and taking Franklin. Then Reed deduces he takes him to Earth 616 and that’s where Thunderbolts end credit scene picks up

For once, I think Marvel is spacing things out too much. We gotta wait until December 2026?? You gotta put out least one film at the end of 2025 to feed us

Phase 6 off to a good start, can’t wait until Spiderman, which is also too far out

Please, oh please tell me that you believe Galactus is so big that he just kind of swims up through space to a planet and swallows it whole. For those not familiar with the source material, this is the original form of Galactus in FF. He is big but not that big. And he uses his tech to drain the planet of resources which repowers him. There is no literal eating that takes place.

For everyone who’s seen it, how did it compare to Superman?

I have pink eye, otherwise I would’ve caught it tonight (no, not from freaky shite)

As much as I enjoyed Superman which I give a B-, The Fantastic Four knocked it out of the park. It was a much better movie.

Galactus' size was to scale. They did a good job there. I really wish they actually showed him exiting his ship though.

I still feel like they nerfed his power level.

Baby Franklin was extremely cute.

I expected that mid credit scene. I think Doom will take Franklin to another timeline and the F4 will chase. Doom had his mask off, so expect to see lots of RDjr.

Just got out of it. Like the appearance of it in the time frame. Thought everyone did a great job in their roles and the move had good pacing. Never got bored with it at any time. Solid 8-8.5/10.

Gotta hard disagree on keeping the Yorkshire accent I saw The VVitch and couldn't understand a goddamn thing he was saying. Although the thought of Galactus with an incredibly thick accent is pretty funny

Nah, he'll find some reason to trash it like he did Superman.

"It's woke. I'm not supporting it. They made SS a woman. I simply can't have that."

- but... it's not woke and it's a good movie.

"But... SS is a woman. That's a hard pass from me."
