re: F4 reboot-Internet Famous thread.UPDATE-8/11 Kinberg:"No crossover,tricky IP"
Those Punisher pages are such chicken shite.

Not sure why Marvel fans are pissed at Fox and Sony. Their anger should be directed at the Marvel executives that whored their characters out for eternity and without retaining creative control.

If they want to depict a building getting blown up, it's should be the 1990's Marvel Offices.

You're not wrong about that, but if Marvel hadn't sold the rights to Spider-Man, F4 and the X-Men they wouldve closed the doors on the place after the comic market crashed in the 90s.

AND would we have the awesome Marvel films that we have today if Xmen and Spiderman hadn't paved the way in 2000-2001?

A buddy of mine was on the crew. Trank showed up to set late or so high he couldn't speak almost everyday. Some days he didn't show up at all. He treated crew terribly. He trashed the house the production company rented for him. From what I'm told he did a couple hundred grand worth of damage.

As someone who actually works in this field, I can confirm that this is just about every directors mo. I've been treated like shite for so long that I'm used to it now.

So the house trashing is common?

the panels? Clearly it's the cast of the new F4 movie(notice the reference to Mike playing "Johnny", the F4 tshirt on Jamie Bell and Miles Teller referring to "Trang" (Trank) directing the sequel with his good buddy Mike. The building explodes killing them, so its a direct slap in the face to the film which Marvel is allegedly pissed about being far off from the original material but will carry the "Fantastic Four" name therefore allowing Fox to retain the rights to the IP.

I watched a documentary about the making of from dusk till dawn and that scared me off of ever wanting anything to do with film. Every single person seemed like a brand new original douche.

A friend of mine that's in the business told us to never rent your home to a movie production. Said they'll rip out bushes, trees, walls, whatever gets in the way.

What's awesome is that Star Wars already dropped a teaser and we've seen nothing from this film that comes out months before the new Star Wars movie (made by Disney of course).

"The Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. (C) Fox"

quote:

Reed is a genius convenience store clerk with Ben. Reed's parents don't care about him, and Ben's dad is abusive. They're good friends and have each other's backs. Reed writes a paper for community college on teleportation that attracts the attention of Dr. Franklin Storm, CEO of the Baxter Building research center.
Storm has a son, Johnny, and an adoptive daughter, Sue, whose father, Storm's old partner, died in an experiment gone wrong. Johnny and Sue are party kids, and Sue is particularly disdainful of science. Reed and Sue don't get along at first.
Victor Doomashev is a anti-social Eastern European computer programmer and hacktivist who calls himself "Doom". He hates the 1%, particularly Storm, whom he claims corrupts science for profit.
Storm uses Reed's paper to complete some equations on a machine to access another dimension, the N-Zone. Reed invites Ben to watch the machine being turned on. Sue and Johnny are also there. Doom manages to hack into the Baxter Building's servers and use a computer virus to damage the machine, which explodes. Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben are exposed to otherwordly energy and become mutants with powers that they can't control.
Storm takes them to the Baxter Building and creates containment suits for their powers. They begin to train. Reed and Storm also begin developing a way to revert the accident. Sue blames Reed for everything, but they eventually become friends and then a couple. Ben can switch off his powers when he's not in danger. Johnny changes colors based on heat intensity, and Sue has some borderline telekinetic thing. Reed is pretty much Reed.
Doom finds out that the four have acquired powers and becomes angry it's not him, so he comes up with a plan to break into the Baxter Building to access the N-Zone through the rebuild machine. As a distraction, he reprograms a bunch of stolen military drones, the "Doombots", to attack the building. The four come together as a team for the first time and save people.
Doom activates the machine and gets technopathy powers or something, basically energy blasts and making machines obey to him, and a fight ensues. The machine goes critical, and, in order to prevent it from exploding and destroying the city, the four push into it and Storm shuts it off.
There's a countdown before it reaches critical mass. Inside the N-Zone, the four battle Doom again, and manage to leave him trapped there after he disfigures himself soaking up too much power. The Four manage to escape, but Ben gets the blunt of it to protect Reed and can't switch back.
The machine is destroyed, Doom is gone, the four have learned to work as a team, and Reed vows to find a cure for Ben. And it ends there.

Between the first two Fox films, the Ultimate Fantastic Four and this movie, we are going to see the death of a once great IP.

I know some blame Marvel for selling the rights when they were about to shut down and Fox can do whatever they want with the property, but this absolutely terrible. I totally get why Marvel is butthurt.

Marvel needs to cut a deal (maybe X-Men merch related) to save this IP....it could be a valuable franchise if handle properly.
