I am hoping to go this weekend. The last two movies in the franchise were great and this looks like it will carry the torch.

I was thinking about it but some of the reactions are saying it’s heavy handed on its message and really gory. I’ve never seen one of these so not sure if gore is the usual thing for them

The last two were pretty dang gory.

I was watching a review today and the dude said this one is more brutal than the previous two. If gore ain’t your thing, not sure you’d like em.

sadly no. The thing I enjoyed from the Evil Dead franchise was the fun, campy, levity that it brought to the genre. The latest three installments have all been decidedly not that. In fact, I'd wager to say they are mean spirited and that's just not my thing with horror.

One of the worst movies of the year, and it pains me to say it.

Its legitimately not scary at all. The whole movie just feels cheap, The first 2-30 minutes are a slog to get through and once things get going, its just bland.

The Deadites have the least personality in this film than all other 5 combined. They suck.

The story is as weak as it can get, and the gore, at least in my opinion, isnt as bad as other Evil Dead films, especially the original reboot.

I left before the mid and end credits scenes. I just had to get out of there.

One of the years worst horror films, and Ive seen about 25 so far.

I loved it, I’ve never seen a movie that , literally, had non stop action once the first 30 min were over

Didn’t have a lull to pee

My only gripe; I couldn’t understand a lot of the DEADITE ONE LINERS WITH that muffled satan voice

I watch The Cobwebs Channel on YouTube. Found a bunch of great movies through there. He actually did a video recently on best horror movies of the year so far.

Here's all the horror movies Ive seen from 2026

100/100 Obsession
84/100 28 Years Later:The Bone Temple
80/100 Primate
75/100 Hokum
74/100 Exit 8
71/100 Faces of Death
64/100 Dolly
63/100 Backrooms
61/100 Passenger
58/100 Found Footage:The Making of the Patterson Project
54/100 Night Patrol
42/100 Cold Storage
41/100 Scream 7
40/100 Lee Cronin's The Mummy
30/100 Ready or Not 2:Here I Come
28/100 Hungry
20/100 Evil Dead Burn
18/100 This Is Not a Test
06/100 Send Help
04/100 Psycho Killer
01/100 Whistle

I know what I love in the horror genre, and Im unforgiving with my rankings when I get stuff that goes against what I like. Then obviously, I have a soft spot for movies that take a swing with something different like Exit 8 and Faces of Death.

If something can actually scare me or put me on edge in 2026, then it gets a bump.

I dont know of any good horror podcasts. I listen to The Big Picture and love when Sean and Chris Ryan discuss horror every blue moon, but thats about it.

Check out Undertone from this year it’s on hbo. And Keeper and also Together from last year. 2 sleepers I thought were great.

I plan on watching Hokum soon, heard great things. I agree on your low scores for Black Phone 2 and The Monkey which were universally loved, but on the flip side I’m the only person I know who fricking loved Wolf Man

Undertone isnt a movie that I wont see because of personal reasons...I think Oz Perkins is hugely overrated. I dont think he's made a good horror movie since The Backcoats Daughter, so Ive never really wanted to watch Keeper. I might get to it eventually... Im not a fan of body horror, so Ive never really wanted to watch Together. I dont think I ever watched the full trailer. I got the jist of the movie early and decided that was not for me.

Wolf Man was too dark to me. I moved my settings all on my tv and nothing really helped. I just couldnt see shite.
