Happy Gilmore was released 25 years ago today, and Kingpin will reach that mark this summer. Ernie McCracken and Shooter McGavin are iconic sports villains.

McGavin was a country club yuppie. McCracken ruined a dudes life. In fact, what McCracken did lead to a guy both losing his hand, livelihood and name becoming synonymous with “loser”.

Shooter is an elitist prick and easier to hate, therefore, I think he's the better villain. Big Ern is a god damn savage, but he's almost likable in a way.
