Basically, the only reason I still record it is because it's easier than changing my DVR settings.
that may explain why you record it, but it doesn't explain why you watch it.

Worst episode in the history of the show in my opinion. It was just awful.

Crappy ending to a crappy season. The writers got in way over their heads trying to bring serious problems to the gang and lacked the talent/forsight of how to wrap it up. They lost the fun vibe of the show a while ago and it went downhill ever since. We would tune in to see a fun show of 4 guys living the dream, get some gratuitous nudity (which come to recall there was none of in the final season, correct???), and one major plot line running through the show. Then they started to get too serious and couldn't juggle the multiple plot lines all at once especially when the show would run at 23 minutes. I really watched this season and the last for the most part because I was too far invested. This last season was so bad it actually made me hope for the finale to get here.

That may have been the laziest piece of writing in the history of television. It was as if they suddenly realized they were down to their last 30 minutes and just said "frick it".

Terrible finale.
So the New chick goes from not wanting to date Vince because he is a womanizer to marrying him after one date and sleeping with him on the first date.
I don't buy it. They painted her as a sophisticated intelligent strong willed woman and then in the span of one episode turned her into a eccentric slut.
Weak. They didn't need to have a ridiculous wedding to set up the E/Sloan plot.
All they had to do was have Vince show up and say the exact same thing to Sloan but without his pending wedding plans.
WTF with the whole take the plane anywhere you want to go and skip the wedding nonsense???
Then the, I will find you???
What a complete pile of crap.
Someone needs to go back in time and stop the chick from writing this show. She freaking turned it from a great fun show to freaking 30 Something.
Good day!

I started laughing at how bad that was. Sloan waiting at the plane for E in that red dress? I'm surprised they didn't play the music Lady in Red. Man that was terrible.
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
I have never seen that dress you're wearing
Or the highlights in your head that catch your eyes I have been blind
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek

Please tell me it didn't end in a black screen...still waiting for that damn Sopranos movie to come out..what a crock of shite

So they end last season with E and Sloan and a plane and they recreate the same exact thing this season, because the writers are that lazy and terrible? So we spent an entire season watching these two bitch and complain and moan only to find their way back to the same exact place they were in at the end of last season? Terrible.

the finale would have been 100x better if i just stared at a black screen for 35 minutes and then had mrs ari in a bikini

Didn't read entire thread, but that was the worst finale I've ever personally witnessed. In ONE show, they managed to solve all the problems in an almost laughably ridiculous manner. Characters just inexplicably do a 180 in terms of personality. Chick hates vince, but now gets married? Ari throwing away everything he built to keep wife? Don't even mention the whole cheesy Sloan-Eric deal.
My girlfriend, on the other hand, absolutely loved it. So there ya go.

Oh and when exactly did Vince become a mega star again??? When did he make the money he can just toss away for a 1.4 mil ring and two plane rentals?
I know he has never been good with money but did I miss something about his career? Maybe I wasn't paying attention but when did he go from the normal struggle to tossing 1.4 mil away with the blink of an eye?

I thought it was ok, considering the setup.

I agree, this was ridiculous. They should have introduced the Sophia character at the end of last season (or beginning of this season), and built their relationship up over the course of at least a few months, to make it somewhat believable.

also made no sense

maybe, but she also wrote some of the better episodes of the series, so who knows?
I actually thought Ari's reconciliation with Melissa was nicely done.
As someone who has watched every episode from the beginning, and still loves the show, this is how I would have ended it:
- at the start of the final season, we jump forward one year from when Vince entered rehab. He has gotten his life back in order. It would have made more sense for Mandy Moore to reappear and Vince to get serious with her. But the Sophia character could have worked if they introduced her sooner.
- the final episode would have included an Oscar victory for Vince via his role in Great Gatsby. On stage he would thank his boys and prove to the world that he is a good actor.
- Johnny's Bananas airs and is a big hit, but Johnny is surprised when the only movie offers he gets are for animated voice-over roles. But he doesn't care b/c he is filthy rich.
Then again, I've probably just guessed the plot of the movie!

I thought about this also, but remember the Avian just went public and Vince was a large shareholder.

He cleared 15 million FWIW.

Can someone explain to me how a single tequila brand "goes public" and the guys with pretty small stakes take home 15 million on their investment?

I really was in shock most of the episode from the premise a high society intelligent business woman decided to sleep with and marry Vince after one date full well knowing what a womanizer he has been and oh the fact he just got out of rehab from a coke addiction and he only went into rehab to stay out of jail.

I think Vince had a pretty nice stake in it if I recall. Either way, he had some cash for the ring and plane.
