I enjoyed it. Weird movie in general. Ending was odd. Was a deep movie and sorta hard to follow.

I watched it not long ago and thought it was interesting. What did you end up thinking was going on?

SPOILERS maybe

I just figured he'd somehow become able to view his parallel universe in real time

Most WTF ending of any movie I’d ever seen.

Well at first, I thought there were actually 2 different ppl until they had the same scar.

Then I thought it was his past life.

But it's a difficult movie to follow. Really makes you pay attention and get the messages throughout the movie.

The woman he is seeing and got into a wreck didn't actually exist when reading the explanation. The wreck never happened either.

Didn't really get the ending very well. Except that he never changed, and she has to accept it? Crawling back into a corner?

IDK how would you explain it?

Based on The Double by Dostoyevsky. Also Spiders play a symbolic figure in literature.

I thought so originally too but it's actually based on José Saramago’s The Double, which is also a novel.

There is a movie called the Double with Richard Gere and Jesse Eisenberg that is based on Dostoyevsky's the Double. But I haven't seen it.

I love the film Enemy. For a bit there with Enemy, Prisoners, and Nightcrawler, Gyllenhaal was the best in the biz. Been a while since he's made a good film though. I watched some of the TV series Presumed Innocent on Apple Plus but it didn't really move my needle. Just bad writing, not his fault.
