It bothered me. It was the main point of the Endgame time travel rules and the Russo's broke their own rule to give Captain America an ending they thought everyone wanted.
Should have created a fork and in the alternate timeline they bring in fantastic four and x men then they can merge everyone together

He would have had to come back through a different portal than the one he went through. They never showed that, but it can't be ruled out.
I kind of assumed after thinking about it a bit that the bracelets that they had tethered them to their timeline and that was key to them getting back correctly. If he held that then he should be able to jump at any point and come back.
This thread is pretty dynamic thought though. It would be like the leftovers show and people coming back 5 years later.
When Scott was walking the streets, there were large areas that were run down and abandoned and now that half is returning to find everything ruined. the economic fallout would be massive as there would be a 50% unemployment rate immediately.

Honestly, all they had to do was have him go back through the same portal as an old man, but then they wouldn't have gotten that beautiful park bench shot.
It made me wonder if maybe I misunderstood the rules, but trying to understand the logic in a time travel movie is a waste of time anyway.

Do you free market bro?
Do you really think ANY market could handle billions of people instantly showing up?
Food, medical, transportation, etc. ALL would fall far short of that kind of demand. The death toll would be staggering.
So I guess ultimately, Thanos still won.

Or we just weren’t meant to overthink it.
Can we apply that to GOT, Star Wars, and all the other franchises that get nitpicked to death on here?

I hate time travel plots. I either avoid them or not overthink them bc they never make sense.
