I laugh my arse off on Monday mornings just thinking of all the shite he says on that show. I hope it keeps up.

Well, hell. I'm clearly in the minority here.

This show is far from great. I'm a junkie for comedies and I'll continue to watch it, but it could be better.

I like the premise of the show- an ex athlete, whose a cocky a-hole on the outside, yet cries himself to sleep at night. I like the idea of Kenny Powers getting humiliated at the dealership and then taking ecstasy at a junior high dance. The dance scene was excellent and Danny McBride is clearly watchable and talented.

But, the writing on this show? Sheesh. It seems like a 3rd grader who just learned how to curse wrote a majority of the script. It really isn't needed. Danny McBride is funny enough as is. And I'm a huge Will Ferrell fan, but that was probably one of the weakest performances I've seen from him. "Well it must be my God damn, mother fricking, lucky day."

Will Ferrell is funny, because you can't get a gauge for what's going on in his head. The character he played was so transparent and unbeliveable, that he wasn't funny.

I'm not trying to bash, I really want this show to get better, because I think it has potential.
Most shows get funnier as their season goes on and I'll continue to watch.

If you've been to any car dealership in Alabama, then you have to think that Will Ferral's character is nothing short of hilarious.

I would imagine a mullet-wearing, coke-snorting, washed up ballplayer to use some pretty foul language.

i think the purposeful overdoing of the cursing makes it funnier.

Agree. His self-motivation cassettes wouldn't be the same without it.

just checked on IMDB, the 3 writers are mcBride, the guy who plays Clegg and another of their buddies. All three apparently were on screen at that white trash party with the period blood on Superbad.

I think the writing should be a little more clever. I think the situations are funny enough.

Don't get me wrong- I think the show is good.

I also love Danny McBride's personal story. Anyone who busts their arse to make independent movies in a small southern town, is cool by me.
