I fricking love the books. Martin better hurry his old arse up and finish them before he croaks like Robert Jordan.
Looking forward to the series immensely.

Just finished.
Those 15 minutes are pretty different, well the overall scheme is the same basically, but there are numerous differences.

Wow. That looked really good.
I'm so glad HBO is doing this, as opposed to say, Fox Studios.

Yeah there were differences but if you were to give summaries of both the show and the prologue so far they would be basically the same. The added scene with Arya shooting the bow was very well done.
And dear god those fifteen minutes went by fast.
On a side note I love my girlfriend, she saw Eddard and said isn't that the guy from Lord of the Rings.

I loves me some Lena Headey.

The show did make it so the Others lost some of their mystique, they don't seem otherworldly but rather savage wild things from what we saw.

I thought they downplayed the 'fantasy' of the others for the sake of the new audience. If you think about it they don't play a role in the first few 'seasons' anyway so theres no sense scaring people off with the fantasy elements. I always pictured them how the ring wraiths appeared at the top of weathertop.

My girlfriend knowing nothing about GoT said they reminded her of the people beyond the wall in The Village

Yea. I agree. Although it looks like it has the potential to be too complex plot-wise.

Well they seemed dark, hairy and not light skinned teenagers

This will force Martin to finish the series, or kill him.
It is a great series.
I also love some Lena.
