Sad but he was a head case

Being the goofy butt of all the jokes on a show is one thing, but hell, even Gilligan was given some dignity. And he was older too... very well could be the DD was a headcase, but maybe at such a young age, being ostracized as the perpetual dweeb had its toll on him, emotionally.

His agent says:
quote:
We are aware that Dustin is not considered reputable by most. He’s had a history of mishaps, of unfortunate events. We want the public to understand that he was not intentionally malevolent,” Paul said. “He — much like the rest of those who act out and behave poorly — had undergone a great deal of turmoil and heartache. His actions, though rebukeable, stemmed from loss and the lack of knowledge on how to process that pain properly. In actuality, Dustin was a humorous and high-spirited individual whose greatest passion was to make others laugh. He was able to sense and feel other peoples’ emotions to such a length that he was able to feel them too—a strength and a flaw, all in one.

The apex of his career was his sex tape.

Still can’t believe Screech is gone.
This has been one horrible year so far, and it’s getting worse.

What's an agent who wants to keep working in Hollywood supposed to say ?

That’s a pretty incredible insight there.

He was doing really well up until he gilded the lily with that last sentence.
He basically called him Deanna Troi from ST:TNG.

Yep. He had a gift, which was also a burden, he never asked for.

Hard not to think of him as "just a kid", still. And, of course it seemed like he was living life at 1000 mph, at least at times.
RIP "Screech"

Came to a screeching halt after that.

Statements from his castmates. Interesting note here, Slater was the only one to include a pic of them together on instagram. Jessie just put up a publicity photo from the show, not even a recent pic. Zack and Lisa couldn't even be bothered to put anything on instagram, just a statement to the press.
