Agree. One of the best done shows in a while. Anyone know if the source manga has material for season 2?

Really well-done show through and through. That dad of theirs was the definition of one of those obsessive geniuses to the point of being a villain. That final video he put out was wild
I thought the most interesting part of the show was the evolution of your feelings towards her mom and dad. In the beginning, you kind of get the feeling that the mom was the villain and the dad was kind of unjustly torn from his daughter. Not saying she didn’t do awful things, but you definitely learned more about how much she sacrificed for him and how she tried to support him and find a place for them in Japan, with no gratitude or support from him. You then learn how obsessive and ruthless the dad was, and she probably was better off away from him. Such an interesting, complicated web of relationships
Also, the scene of Issie sitting down with the group and having dinner in Italy and saying this is what I always envisioned a dinner here being like: loud talking and laughter and touching. That almost got me a little misty eyed. Those strict, lifeless Asian families must be so suffocating for a child just wanting some warmth

Apparently one of the more successful mangas written, and also hugely influential in creating interest in wine of Japan and China.
