Based on a lot of advertisements for it, a lot of people were expecting a F&TF type of movie. This is not that kind of movie and fans of those mindless action movies (lowest common denominators) were pissed.

Really cool movie. Definitely worth the watch. Ending was kind of meh like said earlier. Also, there are long parts where they just sit there and frankly it's awkward.

I like calling someone shallow by posting a meme. It's base irony, but I like it.
I have gone into detail with my problems with Drive, but I don't really like bashing the film. It's not BAD, it's just wildly overrated. And I see what people like in it... it's a technical film and expertly made. It's just sloppily written with characters who make no earthly sense. I don't like being the killjoy telling people not to enjoy a thing they like. But if you want a more fleshed out take on my problems with Drive, I've posted them in this thread:

What in that response made you feel like I'm not relaxed? I said nice things about the movie, and linked to a different thread where I went into more detail. It's a really interesting thread to, with great back and forth.

It's a soundtrack pretending to be a movie that Shane did better. Yeah, I was underwhelmed. It wasn't terrible but I'd heard so much hype for Drive, and that just wasn't warranted.

At the end of the day movies are basically works of art so I could really care less whether people like or don't like something, but I'm always stunned when people tell me they didn't like this movie. It's as incredibly tense and riveting as any movie I've seen in years.
Thanks to this thread it might get a rewatch this weekend
