A modern day It's a Wonderful Life, and anyone who recognizes my posts of IAWL know that is my #1 movie of all time, so I don't throw that complement around lightly.

It's a nice mix of IAWL with some elements of Back to the Future, Field of Dreams, All the Right Moves, and The Program, with great football scenes.

Obviously it's low budget and has some cheesy parts but I'm actually very surprised this movie didn't get wide theatrical distribution. Kurt Russell is great as a HS football coach.

Great sports flick if nothing else. One of my favorite football movies up there with Rudy.

I highly recommend checking this out if your looking for a good rental that the whole family can appreciate.

Full disclosure, it isn't rated well on RT, 43% critics 65% audience, so maybe I'm just offbase here, but the wife and I both really enjoyed it.

I'd love to here some feedback if anyone checks this out.

I watched this movie last week...what a great movie. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys sports movies or sentimental dramas. However, I did keep thinking his wife was going to go nuts and superglue his testicles to his leg a-la Rose from "Two and a Half Men".

And yeah you're right, very sentimental, almost sappy, but we really didn't mind it.

I thought they pulled it off really well, and the more I think about it, the more I really liked it. Just bought it on amazon.

And I really can't stress enough how good the football scenes were IMO. Very well done.

And kingbob, just saw your Thronception call from the crackpot thread

Yeah, without any spoilers, they clearly had license from Ohio State to use their logo, uniforms, and stadium.

Pretty cool scene in the movie actually

Hope you enjoy it.

I'm a little nervous making a recommendation about such an obscure movie, but it's only a buck on Redbox, so at least it requires a minimal investment to check it out.

And like I said, my wife and I both loved it, and someone on this board has also endorsed it.

Let me know if you liked it. I'm pretty confident most people will not consider it a waste of their time or dollar
