Wait what time does this air? I figured it would be later on BBC America.

ETA: yea I just checked. 7:15 central on BBC America. It might be less than three hours across the pond.

It's time (at least for those of us in the UK - and no commercials!)

No spoilers: Loved it

Tiny, tiny SPOILERS that don't give much away:

Loved the cameo

New title sequence is great visually, terrible musically

Pretty much a sequel to a Tennant ep

Speaking of Tennant, first half is very Christmas Invasion

The political statement (you'll know it when you see it) was completely unnecesary

END TINY SPOILERS

Will give more once y'all have seen it

I might be misremembering episodes but this was one of the worst uses of the sonic screwdriver which somehow changes an electric powered vehicle into a ROCKET PROPELLED vehicle.

yea that was an absolutely horrible scene, and the episode was pretty weak, the stupid look on their face when the "water infection" kicks in, and so forth the only good part was the end when the adelaide officer bitch kills herself to rebuff the doctor.

Over all Waters was a pretty weak stand alone episode.

Dalek Asylum
The Doctors Wife

both much better for stand alone, the arc stories from The Silence(falls) and Pandorica both kicked arse for better story's/episodes.

Donna was easily the most annoying of the new companions and of the old ones, the preachy Sarah Jane and the abrasive Teagan both could make your teeth grind.

If they bring back a single epi companion it should be Lady De Souza (Michele Ryan) from the Planet of the Dead epi, her style may have been a bit much lara croft, but she could make any episode fun.

As usual, no actual rebuttal of his comments. Just nonsense.

Teagan, Donna and Sarah had absolutely NOTHING on Adric. Nothing made me happier than his demise.

If you want to be technical, then K-9 was the best companion.

We're basically talking about the female companions.

Adric would definitely warrant taking a 7 iron and planting it in his skull.

I always had a thing for Leela, the cave girl, in her tiny bear-hide bikini, and of course Peri's enormous rack..

oh yes, and Mary Tamm -Romana 10x hotter than Lalla Ward -Romana

Leela was definitely my favorite old whovian. Nyssa was hot especially in her last episode where her clothes started falling off as the episode progressed.

Just watched the Christmas episode again. Did the doctor admit to a gay relationship with an android?

Clara mentions making up a boyfriend and the doctor quips that he did that once with an android.

You mean the one they forced over and over and over and over again? Take that out and it is a good episode. Really like the new doctor.

Spoiler-free assessment:

Didn't love it, but I can see Capaldi growing on me.

Spoiler:

It makes me slightly uneasy that it took that cameo to make me ok with Capaldi. It's not that he was abrasive, he just wasn't likeable.

Then again...now that I'm typing out my thoughts I guess that's what they want. They want us to feel the uncomfortableness that Clara feels. So I suppose it was purposeful.

I'm still excited for this season. And I LOVE the new title sequence. The 80s theme was one of my favorites and that's what it reminds me of.
