Do you think Zack Snyder will be able to complete his Justice League trilogy?

With the announcement of the release of the Snyder Cut of Justice League for next year, I'm starting to wonder - especially if the cut does well on HBO Max. Warner Bros. is investing some $30 million in the project. That's not just VFX. It's also for re-shoots, ADR work, and brand new scenes. Zack Snyder's cut of the film set up for the arrival of Darkseid and his conquest of the planet. If the WB is going to sink this much money into a project like this, do you really think this will be a one-off?

I don't expect any more because Affleck has moved on. You also have Reeves films coming up.

Jesus Christ. A hack just got $30 million more dollars to fix his movie that was already a financial let down and general disaster, and this is still how you react. The joke doesn't work in a thread of this topic.

Seems unlikely they’ll replace everyone that needs to be replaced at this point and resume like normal

If it does get back on track, they need to either do some multiverse shite or just start over and keep the people who work in the cast (Wonder Woman, Aquaman etc)

Zac Snyder has made 3 "DCEU" movies.

Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, Justice League
Total cost before marketing
$775,000,000
Total gross
$2,199,604,732

The other 5 DCEU movies?

Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, Aquaman, Shazam, Birds of Prey
Total cost before marketing
$668,000,000
Total gross
$3,282,285,830

So Snyder somehow made 2 less movies that cost $100m more to make but grossed over a billion dollars less.

I don’t think he’ll do anything more with the DC characters after this. I hope that they just get to the Darkseid mic drop and leave it at that. I don’t want a cop out new ending. I want to see what he intended.

If there’s a fantastic reaction (doubtful) they can look at someone else picking it up in five years.

FWIW, Justice League cost $200 million before WB decided to hack it all the hell and bring Whedon in. Telling audience you are spending $100 million to reshoot half your movie less than 6 months before it comes out is not exactly the best way to boost your box office. Especially with the ending of the movie giving them no direction to go on after.

The studio got out of the way for Aquaman and Shazam and lo and behold, great movies that were box office successes.

Regardless of the criticism it appears they still made a ton of money off of them. I haven’t seen Birds of Prey, but I was only really disappointed in Suicide Squad. They weren’t perfect, but I didn’t regret watching any of them.

The real troll is this movie wont be done for like 2 years. Can’t do reshoots right now due to covid. The man when productions start Cavill is going straight back into witcher season 2. So you still have a long wait then edit the whole damn thing.

Great publicity stunt

They’re doing re-shoots? I thought the whole point of the Snyder Cut was that it was a separate movie that was pretty much already complete before he had to bow out.

Are they really going to try to get the actors back to shoot Justice League for a third time?

No. They are finishing the visual effects and doing the score again.

Shazam was awesome. Aquaman was not good.

Aquaman was a great action/adventure movie. How can you not enjoy it?

Pretty sure he said he might try to get some actors in for voice work. Small fraction of the cost of a reshoot.
