Discussion: Most Talented Actor/Actress on Seinfeld?

In your expert opinion, which of the four main actors is the most skilled at their craft?
Jerry Seinfeld
Jason Alexander
Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Michael Richards
None of them had huge movie careers, and not very great TV careers* either unless you consider "The New Adventures of Old Christine" a grand success.
I'm having trouble deciding between Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
*other than the Seinfeld show of course

Define skill? As in having the most range for other projects, or best at playing their part on the show? I guess Julia Louis-Dreyfus has shown the most range outside of the show but playing their part the best would be a toss up between Jason Alexander and Michael Richards.

I mean being a skilled actor in general. Including laying their part in Seinfeld, as well as being able to play other parts.

Well I don't know then. If you had said just simply on the show, my answer would be George.

I saw Alexander on Criminal Minds and he was AWFUL.
I have to say Louise-Dreyfus because she can do other stuff. Jerry has only every really played himself and Kramer hasn't done shite.

I guess since you used the word "craft"
Jerry Seinfeld is the most talented with his comedy writing.

I'm not a scholar of these people, but I would think Jason Alexander. Off the top of my head, he's done movies and Broadway in addition to Seinfeld. Julia is just a TV comedic actress.

I have to go with him. He's had a pretty distinguished career on Broadway with a Tony Award. He can act, he can sing, he can dance. He's definitely the most talented actor/actress on Seinfeld.

How dare you? Kramer hasn't done sht? he nailed it in UHF as Stanley Spadowski. NAILED IT!

This is correct. He has had roles that were nothing like Newman.

By far...that is unless you count Jon Voight

Bryan Cranston
This is the correct answer. Tim Whatley has done a variety of bit parts on other shows, was the dad on Malcolm in the Middle and now is starring in Breaking Bad.

As far as their performances on Seinfeld, I'd go with Kramer.
Word is that he worked out every grunt and expression prior to each performance. He didn't wing it, he knew what he was going to going into ever scene.

I think if you take out Kramer or Elaine the show is still okay...but if you take out George?
His neurosis carried that show...he's Rivera - to use a Yankee analogy - the MVP closer; Jerry was the set-up man.

There would have been no Seinfeld success without Kramer.
He was a master.
