It’s a political thriller based on the premise that the Norwegian prime minister attempts to stop drilling for fossil fuels and a Russia “peacefully” invades to make sure they don’t

All 3 seasons are on Netflix, the show just finished its run it was the most expensive show ever produced in Norway. I think it was banned in Russia.

I enjoyed it a lot, the ending of the show was interesting....

Despite the central plot point revolving around climate change it is not really a preachy show at all. Sure you've got a few comments revolving around how bad Oil is but you also have plenty of folks on the other side, and they definitely do NOT make the climate change people look better than others.

The show is based around all the backstabbing, negotiating, and espionage that goes on behind the scenes, and the fact that Russia tries to control EVERYTHING

That is a bit of a stretch for a premise. I'm not saying the show sucks diseased moose wang mind you. I've watched many a great show with a shaky premise.

I can't see Norway stopping their drilling until the demand for fossil fuels is almost gone. They've been ridiculously good at managing their oil assets and keep rat holing money away into their "rainy day" government fund.

I also can't see a Russian invasion of Norway, peaceful or not, not triggering all out war between Russia and NATO.

I will have to watch this, it will be interesting to see how they answer those questions.

They address all of this in the show other than the original point of its unlikeliness. I agree Norway doing that is very unlikely, it’s definitely questioned in the show

I'll watch it. I have a Norwegian surname. Good enough for me to watch.

i know it's not apples to apples, but Russia literally invaded Ukraine (Crimea) and nothing happened to them

Agreed - I've watched season one and the early part of season two. I've been meaning to finish the rest of it.

Very interesting premise. And lots of twists and turns in the stories. It is entertaining.

I did read where some pro Russia types objected to the story. After all - Russia did help to liberate Norway from the Nazi's.

The idea that Norway would control enough of the oil being used by the EU is somewhat far fetched, but once you can get over that, the story is well done.

When I saw the first episode I thought it would be pro climate change. Now I think that the show depicts the Green Party as foolish - they really don't understand global economics & politics.

For sure. They look pretty naive most of the time. There is a lot of “Well if we do X Russia will do Y to stop us”
Then they do X anyway and get real mad when Russia does Y to stop them

I've watched all three seasons on Netflix and I've enjoyed it. The oil/climate change stuff is just a tool to tell a story. If anyone thinks the Norwegian government is cozy with Russia they would be wrong. They share a border but that's about it.

I watched it and enjoyed it. I'm not big on the environmental angle, but it was a fun watch.
