He gives himself away when he cuts off that section of broom handle and does a drummer’s stick spin with it before tucking it inside his jacket.

Enjoy Apollo 13 and meeting and chatting with Fred Haise is one of the coolest things I've ever done but The Right Stuff is an amazing masterpiece.

The Right Stuff is a masterpiece in cinematography. The use of “Holst The Planets” and other music and the characters were flawless. Large screen with soundbar is the only way to watch that!

When The Right Stuff was in the multiplexes, you'd be in the next theater watching a different movie and then suddenly you'd hear the muffled roar of John Glenn reentering the atmosphere.

You should check out "From the Earth to the Moon."

Love this series, especially the ones that are about the real heroes, the absolute nerds that made shite work.

I got to chat with him shortly after the film was released. It was August 1997, I was 10 years old, and we were in Florida for a launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery. When we got to the lobby of our hotel that evening, there was an older gentleman having a discussion with the hotel clerk about his reservation (which apparently had not gone through). I wasn't really paying attention but my mother was. She whispered to me very softly, "I think that man is Fred Haise." Me being the young space enthusiast that I was, I immediately jumped into the conversation and introduced myself. I don't know how long we talked but I do know that by the time we were done with the conversation, I had his autograph and he magically had a room.

Nurse Murch: The best results seem to be obtained through fantasization, accompanied by masturbation, followed by ejaculation.

Gordon Cooper: Well, that sounds easy enough

TRS was inspired by a book and is more textured in it's approach to characters, meaning and hostory, with some dark humor in it.

I’ve read the book. It’s pretty great.

Author definitely treats Yeager really well and truly believed he had “the right stuff.” He probably favored Shepard next most. He hated Glenn. The Disney + series that came out a few years ago was a more close adaptation to Wolfes book. Shame they didn’t continue it.
