I have a new theory on the ending.
The governor stated he has connections all throughout law enforcement. He's also a billionaire.
With Batista throwing Harrison to the wolves now, Dexter will ultimately offer himself up the governor as the ultimate prize. The governor uses the might of his connections to save Harrison, and Dexter is preserved in the collection.
The governor's white whale is the Bay Harbor Butcher. When he finds out it's Dexter, I think that seals it.
Dexter receives a pseudo redemption but ultimately pays for his murders.
It's a nice, clean ending.

He's not the governor

Well whatever he was referred to as, he's uber rich and powerful. He has both the connections and means to make it all go away, and get his prize.

I sometimes hate the subscription model. Went to watch this on paramount plus. Turns out I need the super special version of paramount plus. The one I get through Walmart+ doesn’t cut it. Went to upgrade temporarily, can’t do it. I have to pay for a whole year. Even tried to go to Amazon and buy the episode and it’s only available though the subscription. Guess they don’t want me to watch it that bad
Wait for the whole season at drop, then get a free trial and binge it real quick.

Agreed I hope we keep going. I think Dexter will meet his fate at the end.
There is a rumor it has been renewed for two more seasons. If that turns out to be true, I hope the level of writing remains this good.

If that's true, there's no way for my theory to happen. It also means Batista's story arc will end, as well as that omnipotent detective.

I still think Dexter ends up in the midget trophy case, but I would rather two more years. Hopefully the two years not revolving around Harrison. I just don’t like the choice made to play him.

Episode 7 continuing along. Slow in parts but ramps up again at the end.

Angel was never the smartest guy at Miami Metro. He’s really out of his league with Dexter. But it’s interesting to see them lay all the cards on the table finally with each other

Wasn't excepting much of this show coming in after many years gone from the original. Finished the first 3 episodes and this is amazing.

I think Dexter probably kills the midget at the end of this season.

Yeah, I'm loving the old feel of this version of Dexter, but Angel slipping an airtag or pods, whatever it was is ridiculous. Maybe it's setting up Dexter taking care of him, ushering in season 2, but then it goes against the code.
I don't know, I love that this show is back, but Bautista is a weak spot for me, even though I enjoy seeing old characters.

Someone other than dexter is gonna 86 Bautista
