Movie from the early 2000s when they weren’t making good horror movies. This movie hits me hard in the absolutely fricking not vibes.

Set in the rural south during the Civil War. A gang of bank robbers escape to a plantation to hide out overnight before escaping out west.

Turns out, it’s not the nicest place to spend a night

Is it better or worse than Birdemic?

This is the one with Henry Thomas (Elliott from ET), right?

I don’t remember much of it but do remember having mixed feelings about it. I remember it being just okay.

I really liked it. Great acting, neat story, and even cooler setting. Lots of young future stars in the film as well. Here’s a recommendation for 2000s horror if you’re down, House of the Dead 2. It’s not scary, it’s just a fun movie. Thanks again for the recommendation!

I doubt I would have ever watched without the recommendation so thanks for making the thread. I considered myself a Michael Shannon fan but I hadn’t heard of it before. Several jump scares and even the more cheesy effects still gave me the creeps. I think they put most of the budget into the events in the basement and it was worth it.
