Really? What could CBS offer Kimmel that ABC can't? They moved his show to compete with the Tonight Show and the Late Show

Plus he grew up as a Letterman guy. When Kimmel went to New York for a week he had Dave as a guest.

He tweeted @jimmykimmel: David @Letterman is the best there is and ever was.

One of my favorite Letterman at CBS moments is when CBS would force him to have eliminated Survivor contestants on and he wouldn't let them sit down. Pretty much his contempt for any reality star.

I knew a girl that had a sister that was at a taping when Courtney Love was acting a fool. Never watched Letterman much but he always had the best musical guest.

They will try to get Colbert to take it.

Conan would seem the obvious choice, but who knows.

Conan was a rating's disaster on NBC. By the end of it all he was getting beat by Letterman re-runs.

Jimmy Fallon has maintained his ratings dominance.

Grew up when he was must-see greatness. Chris Elliot, Larry Bud and on.

He licks his teeth a lot now & seems too mad about sh#t to be funny to me. Good time to call it. Hope Ferguson gets a shot as well as Kimmel to go up w/JF.

I'm not saying it's all because of the Leno lead in but that didn't help. IMO Conan's much funnier than Fallon

Called it. He just looks stale by comparison to Fallon and Kimmel.

It's tough being a grownup with a dry wit and sharp mind.

I like Fallon and Kimmel okay. But they're still learning.

Colbert has a broader appeal.

Doesn't matter. There's been rumors for years that Stewart is the heir apparent.

Late night is younger now than it was a few years ago. Conan would probably have better luck this time around.

Kimmel and Fallon excel at the viral videos. That's something the new host will have to compete with. Wouldn't shock me to see someone like Ellen get it either.

At least 20. He was funny as hell back in the 80's. What he turned into is sad.

Leno's show didn't start up until August. By that time Conan had been on the air for a couple of months and his ratings had already gone into the cellar.

Stewart has gotten a little too full of himself. He's a great guy and smart and his show is great but that's where he belongs. I dont think he'd do well as a true late night show host.
