Our family usually fires up Dan in Real Life on the first cold front. Tonight is that night.

Not a 10 by any means but a perfect whimsical fall movie. Hits more as your kids get older. Saw this movie in theaters (with Peter Hedges in attendance randomly) in 2007 when I had a 2 year old and it’s probably been watched 15 times since then. Have a almost 17 and a 14 year old now.

Any other fall movies that get you in the mood?

Bump for all you to watch a great fall movie. We did our annual viewing. Second best fall movie after Good Will Hunting.

Not sure about all that, but it is probably an underrated movie that does do a great job of creating that choice fall atmosphere.

Now if we could just be done with these 90° days so I could actually enjoy it. Watching it right now feels wrong. like making a pot of chili while this damn heat’s still hanging around.

Ditto. I keep seeing high 80s in the forecast.

But still we are in full fall season here in our hearts.

I’ usually watch this closer to thanksgiving, but it’s been a couple of years since I’ve watched it. Think I’ll do it again this year. I also usually watch Fabtastic Mr. Fox around thanksgiving. You’ve got mail is also a fall movie I usually watch.

Both good calls. DiRL, GWH, FMF and YGM is our rotation from October 1 - Thanksgiving

I feel like this movie got fairly widely ripped, but I actually love it. Appreciate the reminder. Steve Carrell is so good in it, Dane Cook is a perfect douche, and Emily Blunt is a firecracker in it. So good all around

Sorry. Didn't like it. Seemed like it was trying too hard to be cute and quirky.
