Not a fan of critical role. No particular reason I just highly prefer Mystery Quest and then Glass Cannon.

Mystery Quest is extremely funny and does a lot of one shots of non-dnd games. Call of Cthulhu, Borg games, etc. it’s much more presentable and fairly well edited. Believe this was nominated for best roleplaying content for 2025

Glass Cannon is a bit more of a typical streaming. I’ve only listened to some. But they do a wide variety of games.

topped watching about halfway through C3. The storyline started to suck, too many guests, and Marisha Ray is just insufferable. Haven't tried C4. I watch for the main crew. All of these other folks are just not very good. Feels very B-team.

I am not a fan of some of the not main cast. Luis Carazo and Robbie Daymond (Robbie in particular) are very good. Aabria Iyengar kinda sucks.

I like Marisha’s new character. Brings much needed levity to the show.

Liking C4 through Ep 8 more than I ever liked C3.

Glass cannon giantslayer adventure path is Amazing. Much easier to get into than a 4.5 hour critical role episode

CR introduced me to the hobby, and I was a huge fanboy up until campaign 2 ended in, what I felt, was a rather abrupt manner. Tried to get into EXU/campaign three, but so much of my personal draw to the show was the chemistry between the core group, so I was resistant to the adding of new cast and DMs. Seeing it even further diluted in campaign four, even with Brennan Lee Mulligan (who is brilliant), just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I can echo the sentiment shared here that having Matt Mercer as your gold standard of gameplay sets up unrealistic expectations for what your garden-variety D&D gameplay is most-likely going to be. That said, it’s still pound-for-pound the best live play D&D series out there in terms of cast talent and production quality, imo.

I don’t know, man. Dimension 20 is right up there.
