i've never seen it, and have no desire to do so. i can't comment on the quality of it.

I think one of its (BBT) principal problems is that it postures as if it's "smart" humor, but in actuality it's anything but. Most of the time the show works to actively pit the audience against the main characters, as is evidenced by the fact that more often than not the hyper-intelligent protagonists are generally not delivering the joke, they're actually the subject of the joke. It basically tries to turn the audience into 8th grade bullies giving wedgies to the nerds because they're "different."
Plus the behavior of Jim Parsons' character basically screams that he has Asperger's or is autistic, and it makes me really uncomfortable to laugh at that when I know people who suffer from such disorders.
And moral objections aside, a lot of the jokes just fall flat and aren't really all that funny.
ETA: Oh, and the laugh track. Ugh.
