Miguel's mom did say his dad was a very bad man. These writers are geniuses to say that. It leaves the door open.

I think it's Ecuador. It's still possible though. Terry was a very bad man.

Yeah, the implication was that he was some sort of bad hombre/ cartel dude.

Terry silver is only 2 years older than Daniel IRL

The actor who played him hasn't been active since 2007

Would it surprise anyone if he took the quicksilver method down to South America?

He could've been in hiding from the Feds

The cartel thing is the obvious expectation, but it being Terry Silver might just be too awesome for them to pass up.
In most cases when adult actors stop working, it’s not by choice.

Just started watching the series and love it. Johnny is easily my favorite character so far with LaRusso a close second. I like Miguel the most out of the kids. Sam is annoying as frick and Robby seems shady.
On episode 5 now.

Damn that was a hell of a start
Johnny still my favorite character and best arc in the show, though I do like Robby. I still like Diaz as well but I hope they balance out his character and not make him a full on villain like Kreese

I think the point of the show is to display how everyone is the hero from their own point of view, but can become the villain from other's points of view. It also shows how ruthlessness can turn someone from the hero to the villain. Miguel allowed his emotions and insecurities get the best of him, repeating Johnny's mistakes as a teen. In the match, he exploited his opponent's injury, against his sensei's wishes.
This show is about how in real life, there really aren't too many clear cut heros and villains. Our perceptions of others are formed based off of our own experiences, and we often fail to have the opportunity to see things from their side. The scene with Danny and Johnny test-driving the car drove this point home. They both had very distorted views of the other's childhood that colored their perceptions of the other all the way into adulthood. Heck, they realized they actually had a ton in common, and if it weren't for the fact that they were fighting over a girl (who ended up dumping both of them in the end), they probably would have been friends. However, fate just kept throwing them judo-chops.
Johnny and Danny had no idea Danny was training Johnny's son. Miguel had no way of knowing Danny's wife had taken his gf's phone away. He was also too chicken to knock on the door at dinner and find out that Johnny's son was only there because he's Daniel's employee and mentee.
These subtle lines between who is "good" and "bad" are what make this series so f&%king special. It's the most bingeable show I've seen since "Silicon Valley" and the best new show since "Westworld".

But whatever end they come to, and this is crucial, they must keep "You're the Best Around" in their pockets like a trump card, releasing it only at the climactic moment of the series. That would be the perfect crescendo to what hopefully will continue to be an orchestra of sweet 80's cheesy greatness.
For sure. I was bummed they didn’t play Cruel Summer at the putt putt. It was funny though when he called the breakfast Bananarama

Is it inevitable that we get Daniel vs Johnny 2.0? I hope so and I hope it’s brutal as frick.
As much as I want that I also want Johnny to kick the shite out of Kreese. But seeing as how he’s 70 that’s not going to happen
