Sad to see him getting old.
He will always be Dirty Harry and "the man with no name" to me.
I was a kid when the duke passed away.
It was sad when Steve McQueen died.
It was like a favorite uncle passed away when Paul Newman died.

It happens to all of us if we are lucky enough to live long.
I admire how he has used his age and the mindset of his generation in his later films. Movies like Gran Torino, Trouble With the Curve, and from the looks of it, this new one - The Mule.
It's pretty impressive how he can adapt his talent to make quality movies at all points in his life.

Somebody posted about Kirk Douglas the other day on another site I visit and he'll be 102 tomorrow. I'll always see him as "Spartacus" even though he's long past that physical prime of his life.
I agree, it's hard to see stars you thought were immortal fade away as they age, but that is the nature of life.
But look at it this way, he's had many great innings in his life and has made his mark on society. More than I can say for so many of the people I have known over the years.

Going to be a sad day for me when I get the news of his passing.
Easily my favorite actor. I can’t even think of a second favorite

He's 88 and been working for 7 decades. Hard to believe.

Same. Ive seen every movie he has ever starred in or directed. Only a few that I didnt like. Plan on seeing The Mule when it comes out.
He stated recently that he has no intention of retiring from Hollywood. So I'm hoping that the last movie he stars in or directs is a western. Find a good story and let Clint do his thing. Like Unforgiven, it would be a hit worthy of many Oscars.

It’s been 6 years since Trouble With the Curve, I really think The Mule will be his last movie

Maybe to star in a movie but he will continue directing.
