I’ve seen his name pop up on here a couple of times and I’ve been following his movie reviews for 8 years or so.

He is a YouTube movie reviewer who is set to make his directing debut with the movie Shelby oaks. The movie itself will be an indie horror movie. As he was getting ready to make this film he realized that to make the movie that he has a vision for, he needed a bigger budget. Watching his YouTube reviews you can tell he has a good eye for movies point out little things the normal movie watched won’t see at first watch, he is very good at the detail in movies.

To help his vision come alive for his movie he started a go fund me to help his budget for the movie. His original goal was set at $250,000. As of today, with over 24 hours left in the go fund me, he has crossed ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

I think this is pretty damn cool for a guy who started on YouTube, getting a chance to direct his first feature film and has this many people supporting him.

As of this morning he said he had 2 major film studios contacting to read his script for the movie would be pretty cool if it gets bought. He also teased a top horror Indie studio contacted him about his script……. A24?

Well, CD is a writer, though I don't know how much of a scriptwriter he is. If a good studio was making a movie that featured a script of his, I'd definitely go.

I've seen what happens when shitty studios make offers to actors that have some controversy (regardless if I agree with the controversy or not) - the movies are usually hot garbage.

Yeah, it's quite amazing to see how far this dude has come. If he's actually getting A24 to reach out to him about his script - that's beyond amazing. You wouldn't really think he had this kind of backing if you looked at his 'view count' on Youtube.

When he started reviewing movies he was objective and did it because he liked movies. As he garnered more subscribers, of course Hollywood came calling and started giving him "special access", so pre-screenings and swag. He being a insecure person to begin with, ate it up, and started pulling some punches or actively promoting crappier films. His critique became more and more watered down, he'd devote entire episodes to his Hollywood dreams and his scripts. It was clear from the little things he'd say here and there, that he was becoming more and more ingratiated to the corporate masters that he was blowing. Heck, he went from a "normal" married dude to a bisexual cuckold, literally, to fit in with his new friend group.

Long story short, I'm not surprised that he's getting what he asked for. And I'm sure he'll flop almost immediately and live in shame and regret in his later years.

So glad Stuckmann whitened his teeth. They were an uncomfortable yellow for years. Many times, I found myself distracted looking at his teeth and missing parts of his breakdown.

Well, Critical Drinker's reviews changed a lot too... though in a VERY different direction than what you describe. I imagine a lot of reviewers, as they get more popular, find that THING that got the viewers rolling in and double down on it. I'm using Drinker because he's one of only two I watch, and I remember seeing two different videos for the Ghostbusters remake (2016 movie) - one is a critical analysis, the other contains more rant (but still a good review). The tone of the two was so stark in difference that I wondered briefly if he had sold his channel to another Scottish guy.

If he wants HIS vision then giving his script to big movie studios will not go well for him. Shouldn't he know this?

Eta: Now I see that he's clearly been ingratiated with the Hollywood crowd why did he rely on average peon viewers to fund his dumb fantasy? Pulled a fast one and he should know plenty of people from his connections to not have to rely on his YouTube viewers. What about his own money? If he's not willing to put up his own money, which I'm sure he has plenty of, what is he doing?

He did some odd video where he came out as pansexual a while back. It was a strange thing to announce to everyone as he was just a movie critic.

I use to really enjoy his reviews, but you can tell he got scared of pissing off the wrong people, so now he only reviews movies that he likes. It's lame.

It was in his video talking about being raised Jehovah witness and leaving the church. It was a pretty interesting video since I had no idea what a Jehovah witness actually did and followed.

Drinker won't change. He's got his book $ to fall back on.
