I love The Departed, watch it often. It hit me recently...the Asians would have wacked him after he screwed them over with the fake microPRAWcessors. That scene was great, however, as it showed that Frank was one step ahead of the Feds/Internal with his boat getaway.
But yea, he was a dead man walking the second he screwed them over.

Taking Dignam out when they did with leave was genius. Audience forgets he is in the movie, and he comes back with one final reckoning at the end. Classic.

Good points. I can't remember off the top of my head, but was the guy from FBI in the meetings with the Staties (feed em shite and keep em in the dark meeting) the Fed that Costello was playing ball with?

Yes. Rewatch. Spoiler. IMO. Queenan had FBI guy tailed, after Will told Queenan what the junkie revealed.
Sullivan found the photo of Costello and FBI guy in Queenan's files after Q fell off the roof.
I can't remember the timeline, but I'm thinking that Q probably had this photo in hand when he told Will to bust his cover and make the arrest of mole (Sullivan).

Nah, The FBI was not running this operation. It was MA State Police. They did not know that Frank was an FBI informant at the time.
Also, you would think in reality that the Chinese would have some type of expert to verify that the microprocessors were legit before they left.

Yeah, but I get the feeling that Costello was working for the FBI in that meeting with the Chinese to flush out the Chinese mobsters who were working on U.S. soil.
