I noticed when they showed the broadcast of the game both of their their records had 5 or 6 games played, this season had 6 eps, college football regular season has 12 games, so season 2 will probably be the rest of the games and then the postseason.

quote:almost doesn’t seem like it was made in the 2020s. it actually has some crude humor. there were jokes I remember about retards, gays, Soros and Covid vaccines… I assume the low rt score is because of bent out of shape libtard movie critics
yea its funny af
Just finished the season. Only 6 episodes??? Don’t know how involved they really were but Manning’s did a good job. It’s been pretty funny and love the story centering around SEC college football. Guess South Georgia is supposed to be an SEC team. Can’t believe they only fit half a football season into 1 season though. I was expecting I just caught up on the episodes and they would be releasing new episodes weekly when I wrapped up

Girl was big mad. I can see being mad, but she acted like a bratty child.
Disagree.
She acted like someone who was harmed would act. Her Dad almost died and Russ was involved. Her Dad and her career is at risk and Russ is the cause of that. She had personal feelings for Chad and now realizes/believes it was all an act.

The coach can’t have him stay on the team after he banged his wife
His wife was already a whore. And, he doesn't know. Only Ricki knows.

whole love storyline with the daughter assistant coach is dead after he banged her mom
Not her mom. Her stepmom.

it seems they wrote themselves into an impossible hole on that last episode
It took a dark turn. Russ came out at the end and told Ricki that he held all of the cards and that she'd destroy her father if she let it out.
I liked the light hearted nature of the show, but there's something interesting about Russ' character showing itself to be every bit as bad as it had been...even after he supposedly turned the corner.

She told him she wished he had killed himself. That’s a bit too far.

quote:Perhaps but to put it in perspective Russ involved her and her father unwillingly in the biggest scandal of all time in cfb, banged her dads wife nearly killing him and swindled her up to this point. Also if she’s got any sense she’s aware he’s going to be inevitably found out at some point putting her family in the crosshairs. That feeling in the heat of the moment isn’t unrealistic

It seems everything they were building is now done, right?
Chad mentioned it many times throughout the season, anytime things are going good God Fists his butt.
The last episode was just another Fisting moment for him, but he eventually embraced the fact that he’s not a good person, but they were too far invested to blow it all up, shackling him and Coach Rickey together.

This show had potential but the way Powell played Chad Powers as a borderline mute retard completely ruined it for me. It’s like he combined Bobby Boucher and Forrest Gump and I absolutely hated this character. I would have gotten more into the show if he just disguised himself but was still a regular guy with a normal voice.
You also got the generic left wing bullshite with the flamboyant gay best friend; female football coach, and the backup QB being mocked for being a Christian. I’m surprised the Mannings signed off on this.
There’s also too many awkward pauses where it’s clear they are going for Curb Your Enthusiasm type humor but I don’t think it worked.
The premise was great. The story of a star athlete wanting to go back and re-do his prior failures. But the execution was awful. Should have been more flashbacks to where Russ was at Oregon and contrasting the decisions he made then and how as Chad Powers he’d be different. But instead of being more of a serious show it opted for stupidity.
