I think this was the first thing I ever saw her in. While she remains a good looking woman, this movie feels like false advertising on her. She is an absolute 10 in this movie and I don't think I considered her so in any other film.
Cute in most other things. Doesn't touch The Mask hotness. Anyone else think that?

I know it's cool to hate on SJP. But I never found her attractive. Even in Honeymoon in Vegas.

I understand the "not attractive" sentiment, generally, but not in that film - the costume, hair, makeup and cinematography folks all deserved an award for making her not only attractive, but elite tier (SOLELY for that film), again, IMHO.

What was it? She was still cute in There's Something About Mary just 4 years later, but not that kinda hot. I'm not sure it's all age because she's remained good looking over the past few decades. I know she's dolled up by Hollywood a bit. She looks a little thicker in The Mask (not fat), but in everything else, she's skinny as shite. Is that it?

It was the short hair. Young, in-shape blondes need to ditch the idea of short hair until at least late 30s/early 40s.

That might be it. When you look at her nude scenes from "Sex Tape" she's painfully thin. I'm not saying she's hideous by any stretch of the imagination, but a few extra pounds wouldn't have hurt.

She's definitely never been as hot again. She was "smokin'" as the Mask would say.
Worse than her in "The Mask" is Ellen Pompeo in "Old School." She has never been as hot as she was in her introductory scene in that film, got worse as the movie went by, and never improved on "Grey's Antatomy."

Yes. Somebody or many somebodies probably told her she needed to drop 10-15 lbs to be super famous. It worked for her career but you can see the weight loss in her face.
You can see the same kinda weight loss in hot chick Jennifer Connelly from the 90s and Oscar winning Jennifer Connelly from the early 2000s. Inventing the Abbotts vs A Beautiful Mind is a clear difference but she did have Requiem right before that.
