It was only like 2 minutes huh?

I laughed during Badger's script because I thought he used a Star Wars term by saying parsecs in his Star Trek script.
Has the Star Trek universe ever used parsecs?
I don't recall. It was memorable in Star Wars only because dumbass Han misused it as a unit of time. Badger used it correctly.

Wasn't there a fan theory that the Kessel run dealt with navigating a series of black holes, and its competitors were judged by their proximity to these black holes so Han used the term parsecs correctly?

I'm almost positive the shirt Jessie wore in the episode was a Star Wars shirt, which I thought was a little funny with all the Star Trek talk.
I can't find a good picture of it though

Holy shite. Just saw the episode. Mind blown. About to read this thread.

I've seen this discussed over the years. It's just a screen play screw up that hard core nerds have tried to justify.
A parsec is a distance measurement. Let's say there is a fictional town called Scooterville that is 30 miles away. You can own a Bugatti and no one is impressed that your Bugatti got to Scooterville in 30 miles.
If the Falcon used black holes, that's not a testimony to the Falcon's performance. It's a testament to black holes.

Mind blown. I'd never heard that. I see another theory is that Han was bullshitting Luke and Obi Wan to see if he rip them off. I don't buy it, though. He starts off boasting about how fast the MF is, then he uses a unit of distance instead of time or speed as an example, and right after, he's bragging about outrunning Imperial starships and asserting "she's fast enough".

I think Lucas simply thought "parsec" was a unit of time. It does contain "sec" after all.

Do you honestly think that Lucas was thinking this deep into it at the time?

Is Gomez a bad guy at all in anyone's mind?
I also think Lydia dies next episode. Gilligan said moving parts affect her, so maybe she gone

If Gomez was dirty, and I'm referring to him being on Fring's payroll, Mike would have known about it. He wouldn't have helped Hank set up the lawyer. Now, if you think he is dirty as in Cartel dirty, well, we don't know who is in charge anymore and I doubt he does either.
I think Gomey was a writer's wild card.
His character could have gone either way depending on how the story played out. I don't think it's necessary for him to be dirty anymore. All the pieces are pretty much out on the board now.

Nah. Anything's possible but beyond seeming kind of cliche, he actually broke the whole thing wide open when it was all but dead by catching Mike's lawyer making the money deliveries.

That's a little more likely but I hope not. Like Walt, Lydia is a survivor at heart. She's talked her way out of death three times so far and while everybody's luck runs out eventually, I'm enjoying the parallels that she and Walt share. Namely, that people keep underestimating them and paying the price.

Well, I don't know if you consider this a spoiler, but when interviewed, the actress who plays Lydia has emphasized how much Lydia's character is developed in the second season. Hard to do that with a whopping 4 minutes of screen time.

That's cool to know. The whole car wash scene seemed a setup to have her become more of a problem so I wouldn't think anybody would consider it a spoiler that she'll be back.

I've NEVER attempted to try and theorize what's going to happen with BB. These discussions usually get on my nerves, but since the show is coming to an end, now is the best time to have it.
You would think Jesse would try to find some form of redemption, otherwise his character arc would be a contradiction and the drama surrounding him rendered moot. I think Hank will convince Jesse to turn informant either that or Jesse goes to Hank. Don't think he has a choice, as Jesse isn't beyond saving, and the only way to do so is to flip on Walt.
As far as the cold opens, I assume Walt's going on a suicide mission against Lydia's henchmen. I guess that's a given, but he could be buying it for Hank, they kill Madrigal together, go back to his house and have a BBQ. Somehow, I wouldn't be surprised.

Walt should never have got involved with that woman and business. He should have learned what Mike was saying "if there's ever someone who deserves to die its her".
Especially after knowing she put a hit on Mike. I wouldn't come within 500 feet of her.
