Good question. It's hard to imagine it as being anything other than one of the last cpl episodes. I can't see them having a year pass in the next cpl episodes when they've only had a year pass since the pilot.
Again, there are only 11 episodes left. They are going to be fast forwarding much quckjer than they have in the first 4 seasons.
It took them 4 seasons to traverse a one year time frame. We know that this show will cover another year (from his 51st birthday to his 52nd birthday) in at most 11 episodes.

If the diner scene takes place this "season" that means a year passes in the last few episodes, that would be a lot tougher to swallow than if it happens at series finale. Sure its a faster pace than the rest of the series prior, but 11 episodes with a break between "seasons" would be a lot easier to believe than 3 episodes.
I personally think they will use the break before the last 8 to pass that time (or at least a large chunk of it) instead of picking up next "season" right where this one stops or jumping a year in the last cpl episodes.

I agree. I'm jsut pointing out that we will cover a year's time in much shorter "tv time" than we have been used to.

No one is arguing that.

The fast forward was just made possible by them picking up such a large amount of methlamine. They can play it safer for a while and just cook without all the other drama (other than Mike being followed by DEA), setting up Walt's empire.

They will be deviating away from the established pace either way.
I meant in a more extreme sense. Obviously they are going to cover a year in this final season, but I don't see that happening in 8 episodes. 5 episodes in and it's been a week or two (hell, maybe just days) since he turned 51,,, I don't see him turning 52 by episode 8.
eta- And a lot more has to develop in between that time. We aren't anywhere close to the point where Walt needs the M60 IMO

Somebody said these last three episodes won't end with a fast forward to his 52nd birthday becasue it will go against the established pacing of the show.
But they will be going agaisnt the established pace, whether they do it in this first half or the last half.

I agree. If they skip to his 52nd birthday before this "season" is up they will be leaving out a lot of shite. I just don't see it happening.

What will they be leaving out, that wouldn't get left out if they had the jump between "seasons"?
If the year that tehy "skip" is just them laying low and cooking building up money, what will it matter if it's done between episodes 7 and 8 as opposed to episodes 8 and 9.

What I got out of Lydia talking about tipping them off to which car it would be is that the car they wanted to target was not consistent in it's positioning among all the other cars. One Wednesday, it might be car number 12, one Wednesday it might be car number 56. Which is why she had to tell them which car it was as soon as she found out.
I agree that it isn't absolutely, 100% consistent. What I was saying is that it is most likely in about the same position. It may shift from being, for example, the 4th car from the end to the sixth car from the end, but it probably won't be at the front of the train one week, the end the next, and the middle the week after.
They need her for the exact location, but it's general position would be consistent enough for them to plan around.

It's hilarious. He screams just like Jesse does in BB.

Wasn't gonna start a thread about breaking bad with one on the first page. And if I can find season 5 episode 5 there is probably a good chance I'll find S5:E1-E4 as well

Heard from a Netflix watcher there is going to be a disturbing scene coming up involving Holly (based on an interview with Dean Norris). Have no idea what this could be, but just putting this out there. Skyler's about to crack, so there's no telling what she's capable of doing. Maybe she'll "kill her baby to protect her."
Also, I get the notion that Walt is impressed with Lydia based on the fact she put a hit on Mike. Besides, Skyler hasn't given him any strange in a while, so he and Lydia may heat the sheets. I can see a Walt-Todd-Lydia alliance against a Mike-Jesse confederation. Mike and Jesse will get out of the drug trade and simply try to stop Walt, who's gone bananas and has turned into a complete madman.
