Breaking Bad: A Shot Review

So I am finally mostly up to date on this show, finished season 4.
First:
LINK
Second:
It's ok. That's all I got. I still don't see the "brilliance." It's pretty good, but Walt is so annoying to watch.
And the writers missed multiple chances with Aaron Paul, especially given how awesome his character COULD be.
It's a good show. Not great, but solid enough.

It took 3 seasons to grow on me, and with the show losing it's other best character, I'm not sure how long that will last.
The next "villain" better be fantastic.

Breaking Bad is popular so you think it's just OK. Color me shocked!!
And if you just finished season 4 you're not fully caught up.

I'm not qualified to call anything "brilliant" or anything like that, but if you can watch the last half of season 4 and not be blown away I guess maybe the show isn't your particular cup of tea.
What would you like to see done differently with his character? I actually like how he's gone from the drop out, frick up, drug pusher to a likeable guy who's developed somewhat of a moral compass that the viewer can kind of feel for.

What? I mean, I know the argument, but clearly you must miss most of my posts. Some people have argued my opinions have regressed because i have been embracing a few "more popular" television shows and movies.

Fully caught up with Netflix.

I wouldn't say I was blown away, but it made the show go from pretty to good to very solid FWIW. Just sad to see:
SPOILERS
Gus go. Oh well.

I hope, since I'm not on Season 5, that he "Breaks Good." He's the only character that should. DEA Informant. THAT would be awesome. Especially if he found out about the flower of the valley.

hank,
Deserves a better story arc.

walt marie and skylar
All annoying to a point. Skylar became significantly better in Season 4. Walt...I hate with the fire of one thousand gods and that was before the flower reveal. He's just... an idiot really.

You know the first half of season 5 aired already, right?

the other best character is easily Mike

TV shows are never meant to be watched straight through with little breaks in between.
I think people that catch these shows on DVD or Netflix are really doing themselves a disservice if they watch the seasons straight through.

I feel sorry for you.
Believe me, I'm probably being over critical. In the pantheon of all that I have watched, it's pretty good. In the context of modern television, it's a top 3 show, so when I say "pretty good" That means it falls below Homicide, The Wire, BSG, X-Files, etc. Not necessarily that it isn't good at all.
The writing is fairly solid, the acting is great, etc.
I don't feel the need to espouse about it, but it's a good show. You never saw my earlier posts saying flat out that it wasn't good? That I didn't get the love? I take those comments back.

Interesting opinion.

That's why I said mostly up to date. Cord-cutter not a current watcher.
