At the ending, when Wallace screams "FREEDOMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", and when his best friend(forget the name) throws Wallace's sword are two of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

Ummm.... Scotland is free. they have their own parliament and everything. It's just that they are a voluntary member of the United Kingdom for international issues. And they are royal subjects. Hell, so is Canada.

Just a TERRIBLE movie. A complete abomination in every sense of the word. I cant imagine how one could not laugh at the comedy of errors in this dopey movie.

The worst part is people actually walked out of the movie theaters believing the events portrayed in that overrated garbage movie.

Im still on the fence on what is worse, the actual movie or the roadkill that Mel Gibson chose for his wig in the movie. Its a toss up at this point for me.

Yes. Because every movie absolutely MUST be 100% historically accurate.
Don't be a dumbass.
I personally like history, particularly military history, but this is hollywood. This is just a movie.
It's for a couple of hours of mindless entertainment.
NOT a documentary.

Except for the "overrated garbage" part of your statement, I agree here. I think people are not as smart as they used to be. They in general tend to believe what they are told, instead of learning for themselves the truth.

But, dude, come on. Braveheart was a very good movie.

TBro, I understand what you are saying but the egregious liberties with histoy that Braveheart takes are so preposterous it completely destroys the movie.

To suggest that William Wallace impregnated the future queen and therefore sired the future King of England is so laughable that it doesnt even merit a response.

And if that was not bad enough, which it is, the most offensive distortion(at least to a scotsman) is the gross attempt to villify a true hero of Scotland in Robert the Bruce.

This glosses over the ridiculous portrayal of the Kings son and other such idiotic inclusions, tartans, kilts, etc.

Or the fact the Battle of Stirling Bridge doesn't ahve a bridge in it. It's like having the Normandy Invasion without a beach. That's not just historically inaccurate, that's grossly wrong.

Thank you Baloo, that is another excellent point.

It defies logic. The entire movie is an abomination.

Don't watch it then, what about 300, Saving Private Ryan etc? I enjoy them, don't worry to much bout the historical relevance.

I enjoyed Saving Private Ryan but I thought 300 was just TERRIBLE. Roided up men running around in speedos and capes screaming their heads off. Just sheer stupidity.

Clearly this movie was made to play to the tapout/affliction/MMA generation that enjoys mindless idiocy like this.

300 pissed me off cause they kicked arse for most of the movie and then they went down pretty easily at the end. Should have just shown them swarmed over by 1000s at the end. instead they got beat pretty easy. Just seemed odd since they kicked so much arse for most of the movie.

I've always really enjoyed the movie from an entertainment standpoint, but once I found out how inaccurate it all was it definitely hurt it a little for me

I can still watch it and enjoy it, just not as much

Basically all of them. It is quite difficult to just pick out one of your misinformed facts.
