You are correct for the most part. The opinion and views of the Centre that we were to take away from the show came from mainly an outsiders point of view. Through the eyes of Corey, Alan, and feeny's experiences already dealing with Mac.

But what we were shown first hand of the centre, it wasnt a horrible place. It just depends on how you wanted to live. It was a place for empty hearts and souls to go but they found friendship with others in the same place. To people that do not feel empty, the place was terrible. But I can see from the other point of view that if you have no friends, family or anything to turn to, the centre was there for you.
