5 season of Boston Legal added to amazon recently. Forgot how good this was.
Remember seeing James Spader for the first time during that final season of The Practice and thinking what a damn fine actor he was. His chemistry with William Shatner was top notch

When it was good, it was really good.

Sometimes they just got ridiculous because they knew the network wanted to cancel them the last few years anyways.

Not to get political, but for a show that was mostly left leaning, their abortion episode was probably the most fair and thoughtful episode that has ever aired on the subject.

God, I loved The Practice with the original cast. For whatever reason, I never got into it much when Spader and Kurt came on board.

Between the creepy dentist and the dude who dressed up like a nun and murdered folks, that show had some damn crazy storylines.

Oh yeah, and Bobby hiring the hitman to kill William Hinks. Dude's head ended up in a refrigerator.

Yep. They usually did a pretty good job of being fair politically. Yes, certain characters had certain views, but I don't think they wrote most views in any way that wasn't a fair portrayal of that view. Obviously Denny Crane had some over the top moments, but overall they did a great job not being preachy on anything.

Great show. Imagine if it wasn't written for network television (ie, so formalic). With a cast like this it could have been an all time great. I challenge anyone to find a better bromance than Allan and Denny.

As I've finished up season 2, its astounding how noticeable compared to todays climate. And refreshing. And the characters are aware of their side and the others. It doesn't feel like a one sided attack on a political perspective. its just an aspect of the characters and the influences on their world view
