And I'm on record as saying this movie is good. I don't know why people who haven't seen it keep showing up to bitch about its politics.

I haven’t seen anybody saying the movie is bad and complaining except secondhand commentary from Carson’s parents.

I think the concept of a Superbad with angsty teenage lesbians just isn’t going to get a positive response on this board. That’s not to say the board is going to hate anything minority or female or that the movie isn’t good. Wonder Woman was well received. Get Out was well received. BP and CM were mostly well received (albeit people had issue with the undue praise.) people didn’t scream at Moonlight or Call me by my name. You can make art that addresses issues and tell those stories without beating people over the head. From all appearances of the film and Wilde’s comments, that’s not the case here.

Black Panther is top 2 most bitched about movie on here, obvious TLJ in a landslide. Maybe BvS in the neighborhood. There were people who liked BP but there was lots of people who loved to post nonstop about how they didn't like it and didn't like that other people liked it. And the latter went on for about a year.

More people bitched about its praise than the movie itself. That’s a fact.

This. I've sat through quite a few Apatow movies that I didn't identify with the characters or approve of their "stances." However, I laughed and had a good time. It's like Booksmart went out of its way to portray characters that nobody can relate to and stamped that as an attempt at humor. It wasn't funny.

I saw Booksmart with my wife and two sons (in their 20s) and we all thought it was great.
I don’t think most of the people posting on here even saw it. There was some SJW stuff, but it wasn’t “in your face” more it was just there.
Female Superbad is a good way to put it, I thought it was really funny with way more than “5 funny parts.”

It was alright, not really a coming of age story? And female super bad is spot on, the chubby girl Molly even look like Jonah Hill.

was surprise that Amy of Last Man Standing fame is a legit lesbian.

With the tiny box office it pulled in, should be pretty easy to get a hand count.

Bumping this, my wife’s turn to pick the movie and wanted to watch this, I’ve got to say it’s fricking hilarious.
Very similar to Superbad, watch it you won’t regret it

It’d be one thing if it was heavy handed with the political hundrum but was still funny or well-made

This is what i thought. Yes there were gay people and girl power and what not, but it was fricking funny. Hell they even made jokes about the gay people and girl power people, seriously I laughed a ton
