I thought the dude who played Radagast sucked and went way too cheesy with his portrayal. He flat out did not fit the tone of the rest of the film. He would have come off poorly even in a Harry Potter film.

I sort of agree with this since he will be going against the necromancer in the upcoming films. The necromancer storyline will be as intense and frightening as the LOTR movies.

oh, you mean just like the book? yeah i guess that makes sense

I'm sorry but the cartoony violence was not just like the book. I don't recall them falling 1000 feet with a 2 ton goblin landing on their heads.

I don't hate the movie, but you guys live in a fantasy world if you think Hobbit Part 1 was remotely as good as LOTR.

Not many said this at all. LOTR one of the greatest movies of our time. It was ground breaking

Maybe not but you guys keep saying the tone of the Hobbit was different thus the cartoon nonsense if given a pass.

The tone may start out lighter but that certainly shifts once things start getting real.

I think the cartoon violence detracts from the flick along with the silly over the top nonsense from Radagast.

I disagree. I doubt I will ever watch it again. I guess I will watch the extended version just to see what he added but I don't have even an inkling of a reason to watch the standard version again. I would rather rewatch the full LOTR extended editions before watching the cartoon version of the hobbit again.

I bought it when it came out on DVD. I hated it the first time I watched it. Strangely, I like it more every time I see it.

I appreciate the back story of the dwarves. I like the addition of the necromancer story line.

The goblin fight scene in the mountains was awful. Also, why the Azog departure from the book I'll never understand? They could have done without all of that.

No it doesn't. Comedy Central used to have mini marathons on Sundays and Saturdays and don't do that anymore.

I've just started watching Frasier reruns again.
