The writing is incredible. Every episode is emotionally draining. They all stick with you.

They are great, though most (except for San Junipero) end pretty grim.
It's like a modern day tech twilight zone, me and the wife LOVE the show. I skipped the first (pig fricker) one bc I knew it would turn her off and started on the american idol episode/ credits one and I'm glad I did, we got hooked and watched pig fricker last.
Great show, great visuals, concepts, ideas. It's pretty scary to think we are almost there tech-wise.

It's kind of funny you mention that. I thought San Junipero is the best episode.

More unquantifiable hyperbole from the MTV board? Nah...

when recommending, I always tell people to skip episode 1 and go back to it later.
Never start with episode 1.
Never start with episode 1.

I don't know why everyone hates episode one.

I don't think he was saying it wasn't good. It was just the one example that had a happy ending. I also thought it was one of the best. White Christmas is my favorite though.

I thought it was hilarious right up until it wasn't. I liked the episode.

I certainly don't hate the episode. Gets you prepared that this show isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It was a f'd up situation for sure and he was ruined either way.
I love this show in doses. I don't binge watch it, but it's good to put on an episode or 2 here and there when the DVR is dried up.

I think the suggestion you skip it if you're trying to get your SO to watch with you is a good one.
My wife loves the show and she is amazed I somehow convinced her to keep watching it after that episode.

I can see that. Bitches love Ron Howard daughter so I guess start with that one

The first episode is the only one I liked. This show is boring.

Wait, what? The Prime Minister of England has to have sex with a pig on live TV. I thought it was painfully depressing and non redemptive. I'm no prude, but that isn't entertainment to me.

I thought it was hilarious. I watched in the last weeks of the presidential election and wasn't too sympathetic to politicians. The way it kept getting worse and worse for him until he ultimately realized "I'm going to have to frick a pig" was great. Everything after was pretty awful though.

Even San Junipero, although apparently happy, did have dark implications, that she "abandoned" an afterlife with her deceased daughter and husband to spend it in San Junipero with someone she had just met.
