Black Mirror carries the mantle of TZ and TOL very well

Been out of the Netflix game for a while but recently started back up. Black Mirror was the first series I decided to give a go.

I must say it's just amazing. Serling and Stevens would both be proud of the writing and production. I binged a number of episodes in a row and liked all of them. Not a dud among them. And most of it is pretty original material as well.

I never thought a sci-fi or fantasy anthology series would make it in today's market, but it seems they've done it. Black Mirror deserves to sit right next to TZ/TOL in the sci/fantasy/horror hall of fame, especially if they can keep it up for a few more seasons.

The scary thing is that I can see most all of it coming true in 20-50 years or so. That episode where the dude was demanding his wife rewind her life to prove she wasn't cheating on him had me thinking about the ramifications of us recording every fricking thing we do. shite is scary.

You must still be on season 2.

It's always hard to get people to start because they see the Prime Minister having sex with a pig in the first episode and they quit before giving the show a chance. But Seasons 1 and 2 are brilliant! Seasons 3 and 4 had some gems and Season 5 is starting to tail off. I hope it's just a case of a few misses and not a trend, because it's one of the best sci-fi shows on television right now.

Season 5 feels like another show trying to rip off the concept of Black Mirror. It is truly awful.

surprised you liked episode 1. Great episodes start to taper offer.

Yeah, im glad i gave it a second chance after the first episode. Saw that one and thought it was just stupid. Everyone kept ranting about it so came back and was thoroughly entertained.

I always tell people to skip episode 1 and watch it once they line the show. I agree it carries the mantle of Zone and Limits albeit much much darker and depressing. Maybe too dark to be a real successor to Limits.

I watched the first few and while I enjoyed it and appreciated the writing, it is just a bit too dark and disturbing for sustained viewing. I assume they don't get any lighter.

I doubt it. I stopped toward the end of season 3.

I don't see how people can binge watch this one without ending their life.

I like to binge shows so I don't see how I can catch up on this one.
