To try and equate the level of technology we currently have to what it would take to build a Battlestar or faster than light drive is the kind of lack of critical reasoning that the writers of that show had.

Yes, I had to force myself to start the third season, and even though there was a slight improvement in it and the last season, it was still a dumpster fire. If it was the stated premise of the show to have a show that had on the one these technical marvels and on the other portray the rest of their state of technology not even conforming to the basic reality of miniaturization of tech. Most of their tech is surpassed by our own, yet they can go faster than light? That's about as implausible a plot device as I've ever seen.

I laughed out loud at how pathetic some of the props were. When they were on a planet using a hand held scanner, all it was was a Fluke meter with some foam taped to it.

There were so many holes in the plots in the first two seasons and threads they didn't explain thoroughly, I couldn't believe it.

Seriously, nobody that says this was a good series has any business giving recommendations. It's a garbage show, with nothing interesting about it at all.
