So, I watched Paper Tiger last night and loved it. Bill told a story about how his dad gave him a doll at Christmas and Bill made a big joke about it and it got a good laugh. I thought I remembered that story from a super old Burr video and here it is. Not nearly as funny. It's interesting how perspective can change over time, or maybe he uses humor to deal with it.

Just thought I'd share.

I thought it was good and parts of it were really funny. It wasn't his groundbreaking earlier stuff. But I didn't expect it to be. I think these comedians like Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle are forced to make social commentary now in a funny way rather than doing a comedy routine. Particularly when they get to the level of fame they are. They have the courage to say the things that many of us are thinking and have the rhetorical skill and delivery to put it in a way that makes people laugh and detoxify it. I hope that him being able to get away with the shite he sang is an indicator that the pendulum is swinging back from the wild over-correction of political correctness and #Metoo bullies.

Watched it last night. Dude killed it. Very funny stuff!

Chapelle is much more clever, but Burr was pretty good in his own right

I didn't find Paper Tiger as great as I was expecting from reviews.

But we need comedians like Dave, Burr, Louis C.K., Eddie back in the day, Pryor, etc... to check society and where we are. It helps to balance the bullshite.

I do think there is still some trepidation because we've reverted to a book burning mentality that needs to GTFO.

I don’t think they’re forced to, but it’s probably easier material for them. Jim Gaffigan doesn’t talk politics or curse.
