no doubt in my mind this guy is trolling.
Community is at it's best when it's being nostalgic or clever. If you're too young to get the nostalgia and too obtuse to pick up the clever I can see a person not liking the show.

Yeah, after I posted my prediction I kinda thought they may have played that card alrady. I figured I'd take the heat from the BBT fans instead of editing it like a chickenshit.
So, did the show lose some luster after that?
Like I said in my OP, I've only watched one episode, but it was a painful 30 minutes.

I don't think it has. I know others think it did. Its all a matter of opinion.

I personally do not get the love for any of the Chuck Lorre shows. I have never watched 2 and a half men or Mike and Molly but the premise always seems to be so easy. Mike and Molly: lets laugh at the fat couple, but we really care about them. BBT:lets laugh at the nerds but we really care about them...I get it but I just can't imagine caring or being entertained.

Leonard and Penny dating actually wasn't terrible but they've kind of destroyed Penny's character in the process. She used to be the "normal" person they'd use to show just how geeky the guys were, but ever since she dated and broke up with Leonard she's gone from normal hot neighbor girl to hot girl that is such a loser she now hangs out with super nerdy chicks so they could even out the boy girl numbers and turn the show into Friends.

Because you don't like Community OR Parks and Rec. There is pretty much no hope for you.

These apples vs oranges debates are tiresome.
Community is for a narrower audience. You can bitch and moan and the creators can claim that they're aiming for the general audience, but that's not how art works.
Is Community more clever than BBT? Sure, they go for concept comedy, which by its nature demands that you be clever.
It's like comparing Woody Allen and Adam Sandler movies. Is Sandler a better writer/comedian than Woody Allen? I wouldn't make that bet. Are there more laughs in an Adam Sandler movie? Easily. The humor doesn't come from a wry twist of a sentence or an idea, but a pie in the face can make you laugh just as hard.
If you want a comedy that invites you in to watch the writers turn the wheels and push the envelope towards a meta experience, then watch Community. If you want to relax and laugh at clever dialogue and snappy comebacks, then watch BBT.
If you enjoy Rap that doesn't lessen my enjoyment of Classic Rock. Not sure why people liking one sitcom would drive the fans of another show to tears.
Community isn't tanking because BBT is a better show. It's tanking because it has a narrower possible audience. If CBS moved a drama to go up against Community, it still wouldn't push enough audience towards NBC to make a difference.

Who is more interesting Freddie Mercury vs. Gonzo. Go.

Clearly Gonzo. No one can compete with the Great Gonzo except a select few. Quit stacking the deck.

Depends on the lead in. 8pm EST on NBC is a tough spot for any comedy that isn't already a hit.
