No

I thought 28 Weeks later was pretty good, but it was in fact a huge dropoff from the 1st one.

Tied: Dawn of the Dead and Zombieland, both for completely different reasons. Both are great films.

Dawn of the Dead gets points for not taking itself so seriously.

But I dunno if that is enough to displace 28 Days Later. Dawn of the Dead just feels like a movie. In Days, especially early on, you really empathize with the character as he come to terms with this new world he woke up into.

The scenes of him walking alone through London comes to mind.

Best 'Zombie' Movie?

I'm not a big zombie movie guy, I don't really like horror movies, so when I actually like one I'm surprised. My favorite two, and I don't want to piss off the old school purists here, are 28 Days Later and honestly, Zombieland. Probably the only two zombie movies I've really enjoyed.

Dude, you're right. Forgot about that one. Dug that too.

ETA: Damn, now that I think about it, I laughed my arse off Planet Terror (Grindhouse), thought that was good too.

My three favorites that I can watch over and over again:

1. Night of the Living Dead (1990)
2. Dawn on the Dead (2004)
3. Shaun of the Dead

I'm sorry Romero, but I love the remakes more than the originals.

And Shaun of the Dead might just be my favorite. It is hilarious, gory, has some intense scenes, has some emotional scenes. it has everything needed to make a movie great

Shaun's crew would be the very first to go if they were facing the Zombies from Zombieland. You were just a complete idiot if you became a zombie in this film. All they had to do is stay at his girlfriend's apartment and they'd be safe.

it's not even debateable that shaun of the dead is a better movie than zombieland.

i can watch shaun of the dead over and over again and laugh everytime.

zombieland was cool in theaters, but i am struggling to get through it on dvd. it's not that funny once you know all the jokes

I loved Shaun of the Dead, I just like Zombieland better.

And Hot Fuzz is ridiculously funnier than Shaun of the Dead and is one of the funniest comedies I've ever seen. You don't stop laughing after you find out who is behind the murders (won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it).

Dead Alive is probably the goriest

Lucio Fulci's Zombi is great. I mean, a zombie fights a shark. And then there is the graphic eye splinter scene

Italians know how to make great horror movies.

A bunch of people here say they don't like it because the book was way better, but I liked the movie
