There have been some great and iconic ones over the years. Here are a few of my favorite:
"The Murder" from Psycho by Bernard Herrmann
"Tubular Bells" from The Exorcist by Mike Oldfield
"The Altar" from The Omen by Jerry Goldsmith
"Halloween Theme" from Halloween by John Carpenter
"Main Title" from The Amityville Horror by Lalo Schifrin
"Hello Zepp" from Saw by Charlie Clouser

The original Halloween score. There are some iconic ones but that one is THE greatest horror score by a wide margin

John Carpenter had some great scores, The Fog was also good.
I'm biased to Tubular Bells from the Exorcist, since it is unique and the movie was so powerful an impression on me, if I listened to that even now I'd likely have nightmares.

Dunno if these count as traditional horror films but I enjoyed A Quiet Place and 10 Cloverfield Lane's scores.

Dude.
You have to include A Nightmare on Elm Street-Charles Bernstein.
Classic. Iconic. Right up there with the Halloween one.

a hundred percent. Halloween is probably more recognizable just bc of how stark and simple it is, but the Nightmare theme is fantastic, and i think the better of the two in the context of the movies.
the music from Candyman is amazing as well.

Halloween 2018 has a really nice score where Carpenter and his son build on and modernize the OG Halloween score.

Always loved original Alien's score. Really puts you in the environment that everything has gone wrong and you should be panicked.
