Came to honorably mention it since no one had already.

Surprised CPD was mentioned repeatedly before Patriot Games. Of the two, I certainly prefer Patriot Games.

For me, Raiders is his best movie.

I need to read Clancy. Never did.

Red Storm Rising (this is a non-Jack Ryan, but all the elements are there) - is a beast - I would read it separately from the Jack Ryan's - either first or last. It has the heft of ASOIAF book - at the end of the day.

The Jack Ryan novels and my grade:

Hunt for Red October (A)

Patriot Games (B)

Cardinal of the Kremlin (B)

Clear and Present Danger (B)

The Sum of All Fears (B)

Without Remorse (A) (<- Not really a Ryan novel but in the same universe - I think Ryan's dad is a significant character - Jack Ryan may appear as a kid - this is a "prologue" if you will about Mr. Clark's origins)

Debt of Honor (C)

Executive Orders (C+)

And I didn't read from Rainbow Six on. The trend line was definitely going down - But you can read Red Storm Rising (also an A, maybe and A+ - hard to downgrade a nearly 1000 page novel that you can't put down and read over a weekend.) separately as well as Without Remorse - you won't be missing much - then go with Hunt for Red October and take it from there if that is your cup of tea. Unfortunately, for my tastes, that means you've already read the "A" grade novels.

The Fugitive.

Didn't talk most of the movie.

Owned the role.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is as close to perfect as a movie gets. Top 5 all time IMO.

In terms of individual acting performances Regarding Henry or Blade Runner were probably his best but the best movie overall was Raiders and it isn't close.

Watched that movie more than others, I honestly don't know why because I love Raiders.

But there's just something about the Fugitive.

It's Ford still being Ford but a little more serious without being Regarding Henry. I think it's this perfect balance of campy action and seriousness. It just works...whatever anyone's reason...it's his apex IMO.
