How do you forget his best movie as both an actor and a director, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty?

I think it's easily his best work, all things considered.

I really liked that movie. Scenery and music were perfect.

I really liked Walter Mitty too.

Don't know why it wasn't a bigger hit. Maybe because it wasn't gross-out funny.

I like comedic actors in roles that aren't over-the-top for once.

Same with The Big Year...Jack Black, Steve Martin, Owen Wilson. It's just a nice movie and the topic is well, not everyone's cup of tea...but it's a good movie like Walter Mitty.

I really enjoy this movie, but opinions seem to be split about it.

Love that movie. It's just a fun movie that's easy to chill on the couch and watch.

One of my favorite movies.

I was at a place where I was kind of rediscovering myself so it really resonated.

Trailer made it look like Eat Pray Love for men. I generally hear people say they liked it, but I never had any interest in seeing it.

Such a great movie, even if you don't want to get caught up in the poignant moments, in his rediscovery of life, or the greater themes of the movie; the scenery, shots, and music are enough to make that movie hidden gem. I love how Stiller mixed reality with Walter's daydreams.

RDJ said working with him is the closest thing he will get to working with Charlie Chaplin.

Severely underrated as a remake.

He also directed Escape at Dannemora on Showtime. I thought it was really well done.

Rewatched Tropic Thunder the other night on HBOMax.

Loved the whole plot line of Tugg Speedman essentially given the director role in jungle, which parallels him being the actor /director in real life for the movie

It’s great. Don’t go down the wiki rabbit hole on it tho, I’ll warn, the Owen Wilson stuff can bum you out real quick with that movie

It’s nothing too graphic or detailed at all, just something I never knew about until I rewatched the other night and looked up the production notes on wiki

ETA I’ll stop teasing it like a buzzfeed article

Owen Wilson was originally supposed to play the MM agent part, but attempted suicide and was committed to a mental health facility right when production began so he had to be replaced

Damn that was interesting to say the least. I am now picturing how it would be as Owen instead of MM. I really like MM though he's a legend in our hometown
