Watched The Runnning Man the other night and did a side by side comparison and it’s goes from being a dark and dreary movie to this neon colored bright atmosphere. Currently watching Tremors and while it looks amazing, the hazy and grainy look of it being gone sort of takes away the nostalgia.
Just getting old and finding stuff to bitch about I guess

Be sure to watch the 4K version of Lawrence of Arabia and it might become your new reference disc.

2001 Space Odyssey is a great one for this.

Will need to do this. This is definitely making rewatches more fun.

Honestly I find 4k for older movies to not really be of any better quality than 1080p. To me 4k looks best on movies that were filmed digitally so anything after 2013 anything before that and you may as well stick with 1080p.

I have seen an AI enhanced 4k version of Mad Max that was astounding.

The Searchers is phenomenal.
Also, basically all of Hitchcock's that are available in 4k, especially North By Northwest.
It's not just the visuals, but how they can clean up the audio for modern systems.

Yeah, I need to get that.
I read an online review:

I’m pleased to report that Warner’s 4K restoration is a marvel… and that Warner Archive’s first ever Ultra HD release is arguably the Disc of the Year. It belongs in the collection of any self-respecting cinephile and is absolutely not to be missed.

Anything by Kubrick looks phenomenal on 4K. Alien 1979 is also amazing on 4K uhd.
All in all the best looking 4K I own is the Drive (2011) release by second sight
